The market was timed incorrectly and I ended up with a 6.75% interest rate when it was 6.25 - 6.50% for weeks leading up to the close. I wished it would’ve been locked in during that time.

After navy federal declined my mortgage application outside of my due diligence period, I found myself desperately looking for another lender. Veterans United answered and didn’t turn me away. While their mortgage rates are not the best around, they worked well with me (a 1099 employee with under 2 years of employment tax documents) and managed to close on a house with me during the holiday season.
